i was looking at the shiny blades then something caught my eye and it looked newer and i could see what looks like city busses in the top left hand side.

Hotel Janitor-Who put the phone in the toilet and forgot to flush

there is a drug and alcohol treatment center on the grounds.i think it used to be the old nurse dormitory.not quite as old as the hospital itself.i stayed there for 3 weeks.this building fascinates me.i could see the intact "wings"portion of it from my window.we walked around it daily.you could see where they changed from sandstone to brick,but the design itself stayed intact.i would love to run thru this place.i've heard there are tunnels underneath.i used to refer to the main building as i passed it as"the church of the insane"

As someone who's been to this site I can tell you, even on a sunny day, it's scary and often dark under the shadows of these beasts. There is creeking and echoes inside the ships and the constant sound of water hitting the sides of the vessels and washing up on shore. Mott's style fits these subjects well.

I think these are in a scrapyard. With the far east getting into the steel business and the cost of oil going up, it's not worth the energy it would take to melt these into usable steel again. I believe this is a place off of Arthur Kill Rd, Staten Island called "Wiite Marine". Nearby are two gargantuan LNG tanks rotting away as well. An interesting place to visit. This is in one of the most polluted waterways in the world. The bottom is probably a muddy muck of PCB's, oil spill residue, and unprocessed sewerage. Remember, Staten Island only recently got hooked up with public sewers. For quite a while the south shore was dumping untreated waste into the Arthur Kill. yum yum...

I think this stuff is outside of a scrap metal place on arthur Kill Rd. ?Witte marine. My friend and I snuck in there once and went on a half sunken ship. It was scary as hell. I remember walking into a room with wooden floors and looking toward the bow as the floor sunk into the depths. It was indoors yet in the sea at the same time. Very spooky.
