I am looking for more information on this place. Supposidly my grandmother was a patient here but we are not certain. I am trying to find out if she was for sure a patient. this would have been back in the early 80's, does anyone has any idea how i can find this out, patient records, etc.

I just want to know if anyone knows why Letchworth was abandoned. Since patients files, chairs, etc. are still there it seems that one day everyone was there & the next day everyone disappeared.

I went to the BSS grounds today just to walk around and explore a little..... did not realize how many buildings were actually here! A lot of feelings ran through me, but I was not creeped out in the least.. I found myself wondering what really went on here, and why. I wanted to chance going in some of the buildings, but decided that it was probably not a good idea..... so I observed from the outside instead.. I plan on making a couple more trips to the grounds, as I feel ther is still much more to see!

I remember going into one of the buildings a long time ago with my sister, as we both love exploring abandoned structures... no longer standing I presume?

i currently work with several clients that were paitents at pennhurst and its heart breaking they are still tramtized by the bad things that happened to them. One of them still thinks he is the same age as wen he went there.

I LOVE this picture, i watched most haunted, and i find it sad, and very devistating that they are going to just pull down all that history for some houses!

I hope they change there mind an re-store it again!!!

I live about 20 min south of the city and i love going there just to take pictures and whatnot. A lot of the times i get pictures with orbs in them.

You can take a chance and sneak in if you want but i have to warn anyone who even thinks of doing that to be careful. Cops make a routine walk around the building quite frequently and a new security system was just installed last spring. anyone who gets caught, the charges are intense. If you feel like taking the chance, its all on you.

DOES THIS PKLACE STILL STAND ? I AM FROM BALTO. AND WOULD LOVE TO VISIT.PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Amazing site! Amazing pictures. I am fascinated with this facility and I am currently doing psychiatric medical training here and this picture embodies everything I felt the first day I drove up the the facility! SIMPLY AMAZING!

There was a 'lever' on the bottom of each one so if the power went out, you could keep the patient breathing by using it by hand.. Sort of like a bellows effect.

I can not believe that the trapeze unit is still there and intact.....WOW
