	Dan The "Tubes" are actually condenser tubes. As the steam goes through the turbine, it runs down through the tubes with contain cool water, thereby cooling the steam back to water.

	Dan It's very likely rust. Metal furnishings were used as much as possible to reduce fire risk. Chairs and desks in offices were usually metal, there were metal grates over every window and over radiators. The building leaked constantly from rain and old plumbing.

dan Fascinating photos. I worked at Met State for a few years. This photo of teh CTG unit doesn't look a whole lot different than the unit looked while still in use. There are so many "behind the scenes" stories to this creepy place that never got out to the public. Some may be urban legends, some I know to be true. Either way, these photos capture the horror of the place in way that can make one belive that any story about it could actually have happened.

	dan i worked there late 70's patients often like zombies..but saw alot of very violent behavior....psych sessions frequently not relavant to patients confined conditions

	dan i worked there in late '70-early '80 lots of abuse to patients from staff in the underground passageways and from other patients frequently ignored ..... medical care left alot to be deisred ...were still doing electric shock but frontal labodimies done in new orleans only at taht time

	dan It looks like a late seventies / early eighties bike. From the time period when the style of childrens bikes made the shift from street cruiser style to a more BMX style. The handle bars look BMX but the seat is closer to a banana seat. I had a bike that was similar to this bike in 1979 called the Huffy "road thunder". It was sweet!
