i hope no one actually thinks this has anything to do with the ghosts at met state. it was either put there by people recently or maybe even by the photographer himself. if you ask me, this takes away from the true haunting going on at met state.

I found out the other day that my Grandmother may have been murdered here. She was diagnosed with Cardiorespiratory arrest, Arteriosclerotic heart disease, and a Dysthymic disorder. She never had these problems before. There was never an autopsy done on her body which says a lot since that is illegal. She was most likely killed by lack of oxygen. Perhaps suffocation. Also the time of deat is wrong. Apparently, the ospital called my Grandfather at 9:43 P.M. and told him she was dead. On the death certificate, the time of death is 11:05. Hmmmm. It makes me so angry, sad, and freaked out. Imagine how scary it must've been for other patients. There were a bunch of unexplained death's for a long period of time. Scary stuff.

They are making fun of me and my other friend for it. Hey, atleast I'm not risking my life for a 10 minute walk through an abandoned building.

The lack of mesh on the windows is probably because they open into an inner courtyard.

yes, we (PA army national guard) use one main building activily and have been since six months after it was first abondoned. amandaJ doesnt know what she's talking about, police dogs do train there but only on the weekends at certain times in the year. TRUST ME, i've been doing running PT and some german shepard barks at you through his cage. What's nice though is that when you run you loop around the whole place. You should see how it is in our area of the building. Since we came in right after it closed we continued to use it's things. The showers in our sections still have the original curtains on them (we dont use them) and the soap in the soap dishes is still "penncor" brand (yellow with age of course).

no no no, i'm in the PA army national guard and 2 units and a recruiting station are there. Only some buildings are constantly occupied (very interesting since it's all maintained in there just like it used to be) but many others are used for urban combat training hence a few lights here and there. I can't tell you how many things go "bump" in the night there or you think you saw something.

Many terrible things happened at Pennhurst. I am not saying all of the workers were involved, but I recently met someone who was a patient. It was just awful. I live very close to it. I drove by and got an evil feeling.

All the pictures are amazing, I have always facinated by the hospital. In the mid 80's I had a family member who was put in Danvers State Hospital, the person didn't belong there. She had a really bad drug problem and my family had the priest get involved and he said he found a place for her, well when she got there she realized it wasn't a rehab it was a mental hospital, first night she was hysterical begging my family to get her out of there because she wasn't crazy, We think the priest put her in there on purpose, anyway, my family had to meet with all the head people of the hospital and they had to convince them that she wasn't insane that she was a drug addict and they thought the hospital was a rehab, after a few hours of convincing they released her to my family. Its good to know that she really wasn't crazy but she told us some crazy stories of that place.
