this shot sooooo makes me think of hill house, the creepy gothic mansion from 'The haunting. though that film was set in america the real house they used was actually in england too... and yes it's even scarier in real life...

bobbo this won't get torn down for a supermarket, in Britain old buildings like this are all eing turned into fancy flats (apartments) and sold to rich people... i'm sure this will go the same way

Yes i would imagine that the plaster work is all still there above all the polystyrene tiles. They probably knocked holes throgh it to suspend the cieling though. peopel once thought victorian architecture was fusty and old fashioned and tried to hide it from view. Nowadays houses wiht original features fetch a premuim cause so many were destroyed in the name of fashion .

Random thought... why DO airplanes still have light-up no-smoking signs, and ashtrays in the armrests and bathrooms? I've never known a time when you were allowed to smoke on plane. Imagine having to sit next to a smkoer on a 6 hour flight? Yeuch ;-(
