Tower

Z

This just gives you a glimpse of the massive size of 93. It's incredible how it's totally abandoned now, although I've heard things about people wanting to preserve it as a monument or something to that effect. Unfortunately, the state has left it the way it is, an empty husk compared to what once was. It will continue to sit until some developer buys the property and comes up with the $18 million for the asbestos abatement and cleanup. The years have already taken their toll on this place- it's sad, really, to see it deteriorate. To see kids throw rocks at the windows and vandalize it; the other tower has red spray paint scrawled all over it now. It feels like a waste, to leave the entire campus in a state of utter disrepair. I don't think 93 will stay here much longer, there's been talks of demolition lately once the state provides the budget. It's good that we can admire it along with the passing of another age. Thanks for your wonderful photography. Mr. Motts, so that places like this can live on.

The best time to come down here is during the early summer right before the sun sets. If you face the front facade of 93 the orange glow of the setting sun lights up the windows from behind. It looks as if the wards have come to life again, windows ablaze, perhaps as it once looked before the closure of this facility. This is a beautiful, albeit saddening place.

Last time I checked it was still there! I think it's rusted to the ground or something.

They say blue is supposed to be a calming color, but it makes this room feel rather cold and desolate.

That's expensive equipment to just leave behind like that.... granted, it would be a pain to move. Perhaps it was outdated or just not worth taking.

I agree, It must be some sort of audio device... I mean, with a church that once sat over 900 people, the mass would have to have been audible from several feet away!

I love the ceilings. It seems to be common in European hospitals, now that I look back on some of the other galleries.

Thank goodness it's still in use.... It would be such a shame if it was abandoned! Not that it even looks remotely so.... it's so full of life!

Those arched ceilings seem to me as if they were based off of some sort of Spanish-Muslim type architecture from the 8th century....
