Motts you run a very good site I am still working @ kppc on the grounds as a TA and people need to know to please STAY OUT OF THESE ABANDONED BUILDING BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR WORSE KILLED OR THE VERY LEAST ARRESTED BY THE NYS PARKS POLICE these a on the verge of collapsing

I Have some thing to say haunted soul I am a TA @ppc who worked in bldg 22 1988 to 1997 a a lot what you said about the therapy aides is WRONG you have good and bad in all walks of life P.S I donot drink amd I do not do drugs and also if people were being tourtured like you say the justice dept or known as the FBI would shut us down we worked with 3 tas on the evening shift on 1 RN for a census of 40 to 45 pts young psychotic people male and female and also drug induced from illegal drugs and unfortuanately you had to use restraints on these poor souls ,what would do if a patient started injurying other patients and staff you would not let him or her continuing doing it that would be patient abuse and you will would be facing charges immediately by the the administation and another question were you ever a TA ? or a patient here :? the staff were very caring @ kppc and no ne had sex with with the pts and if they did they were dealt with severley and terminated and charges would be pressed by the STATE and as far as stealing goes I never took anything from my patients and I still see some of them today and what you stated is WRONG AND A LIE

I worked there for many years and all of the stories are CRAP..............These clients were well taken care of and if they even had the sniffles, nursing and even a doctor were on grounds.....The old morgue is in the old hospital building, look for a building that has 1 green door on the back of it, that would be the rear entrance to the morgue.....all it is is 2 old refrridgeration slabs.......The carousel was sold in parts, is NOT in Holyoke.......There was NEVER any 4 story buildings........K building closed in the early 70's.....The old farm house was burned down by arson in the mid nineties by , punk kids.....Paint Shop building was recently hit by arson....The "Theater" building was the school building , which the roof is caving in and most pics are from

Just a couple of comments from an old projectionist: If I am repeating something stated elsewhere forgive me. The carbon arcs are still used in some theatres that use reel to reel (2000 feet) projection and not platters. Every time you strike an xenon lamp you lose ten hours life so you need platters or 6000 or 9000 foor reels. The exhaust pipe coming off of the peerless Magnarc lamphouses vent the burning carbon and copper gasses out of the booth. I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding the older machines/booth operation.

This place is amazing and has me absolutely fascinated. I was channel hopping and saw it on 'Most Haunted', which I'm sure it isn't (and I certainly do not believe in Ghosts), but I love mooching round old, abandoned buildings. I am devastated to hear that it is to be demolished and will try to get up there before it is gone forever. I don't live far away (just outside of Bath), anyone fancy joining me? Let me know. Just about every power plant has connections to the power grid that allow it to take in power when the generators have to be shut down for maintainance or emergencies. This allows the facility to keep lights, controls, pumps and other critical equipment operating. Without operating generators, the plant is just another industrial building that uses power from an outside source (but it has some cool stuff inside).

By the way, it is not that unusual to see power on in a seemingly abandoned building. There is hardly any land in the USA that some private entity or local/state/federal govenment is not responisible for. The land is probably owned by some real estate holding company that pays a custodian to check on the building once in a while and keep the power on for security lighting and fire alarm systems, etc.

Sleep safely? I understand that even when it was inhabited it was haunted!
