I would say ahuge majority of us were there for behavioral issues. It was easy to slap a mental health label on kids who had lives harder than any adult had ever seen. DYS at that point, especially in the 80s, was basically for mid to older teenagers, criminal activity sort of events, not children who had witness or been exposed to severe forms of abuse within their living environments who then acted out in different ways because they had not really been taught any better.

I think it was a "quota" kind of thing. Every single person I remember, never did less than 2 years and never more than 5. We weren't that screwed up that we deserved all of that. Yes, some of us had problems, some more than others, but still lock em up and throw away the key, until they had either "normalized" or aged out? Completely a conspiracy somewhere.

Christina hill was also known as tina, but I never heard that her sister was there as well. I know another person involved through heresay in the murder of the two foster children was Clara Kelly. I left in 1988, so am not exactly sure what happened to her, but I believe she had left before I did. I know she was convicted, but in 1999 I believe they reversed the decision. I also never heard about any child being pregnant by one of the staff. I remember Mr. Litch, and Ms. Blume and the heavy spanish lady Maria. How about Doug and Debbie Aruda from ward D? Jim Goodwin? Robbie who married Rick Glynn. Which dennis bunting on facebook are you?

I would not be sure what John it was as I was not even on A, I was on D, but I did know there was a tall kid with dark hair named John Lucciano. He was friends with this kid Pedro.
