I d belive that this would be the yeast growing area. The yeast must be kept pure, hence the tiles lining the walls and ceiling. Yeast is, of course, the most important part of any alcohol manufacturing endevor.

The device in the foreground is an intact AreoFlush bedpan washer-sterilizer. The focus of the picture is indeed a Kholer diaper sink, listed on their website as a morgue sink. Bedpans and soiled diapers were scrapped out into the sink, the diapers were the sent to the laundry and the bedpans were cleaned in the AeroFlush. It used hot water to clean the bedpan and steam to sterilize the unit.

Corpse Grinder

Uncle Steve

This is a standard Hobart puree maker. It has two or three VERY sharp blades at the bottom of the bowl that rotate at a high speed and turn whatever is in the bowl to a fine mush. Suitable for spoon feeding those that could not chew. The handle on the cover controls a scrapper that cleans anything off the inside of the lid. Used to this day in most nursing homes and hospitals.

Toilet

Uncle Steve

Check out Acorn Industries, they manufacture stainless steel sink/toilet units for penal institutions. In my 23 years as a maintenance supervisor in a penal institution I, nor, to my knowledge, have any of my fellow maintenance professionals, ever encountered one of these units being destroyed to provide metal for shanks. These things are just to well built.

Another Tower

Depending on location I would suggest that it is a drive unit for a submersible pump.

Without a doubt, a Payne elevator.

Elevator Pulley #1

Uncle Steve

Rather than using a counter weight, the larger facilities with the need of more than one elevator used "opposing elevators".
The two elevators pulley systems were connected by a common shaft so that when one went up the other went down.
Notice the shaft on the left of the main pulley.
The motive unit shown in your picture is similar to a machine where I work. I would guess that it is/was made by Payne Elevator. But I could be mistaken.

Blessed Be,

Urinal

Yup, a Cyclo-Flush or an Aero-Flush bed pan washer. The lids are made of stainless steel so the are of great value in the scrap market.

Driven

Uncle Steve

This looks like a high volumn butter churner.
The motor linked to the flywheel would shake the box, filled with cream rich raw milk, until it produced butter. A look inside the box would bear out this theory. Keep up the good work Motts!

Turret

Uncle Steve

I can see the major reason the place is falling apart. Check your roof shots..no flashing, or, it's installed wrong, allowing rainwater to invade the building. So sad....
