Oh my...they've used the phrase "city within a city" about a thousand times already, and it's on 25% finished.

Sheesh.

Ummm...I didn't know an appropriate place to post this, so i just picked a picture with no comments on it yet.

Tonite, at 8pm EST on the National Geographic Channel, there's a show about Grand Central Station. From the commercials, it seems like it'll be a really interesting show for people into UE. There's supposed to be lots of stuff you don't normally see.

Just thought i'd pass alomg the info to some people who might be interested.

8-10pm EST, National Geographic Channel.

This one has stuck with me the most of the series. There are many other very groovy photos as well too though.

Yarr, this is a very groovy photo. The angled lighting with the lines on the chalkboard and the bricks in the back works spectacularly. 8 D

Yeah, i'm seeing more pics with no comments. But this photo is so good. I guess that's why i was surprised by the lack of commentageness.

Thanks for the welcome. The people who post here regularly seem to be really nice.

Purple was the color of royalty in ancient Persia. Apparently, purple dye was the most expensive and most difficult to make. I guess that's why they made the Persian Room purple.

No comments for this image??? I don't know if you guys consider it rude here to post on older stuff, but i find the composition in the photo amazing.

The upper half of the photo is dominated by the bright skylight contrasting with the dark ceiling. While in the lower half the beam of light hitting the wall mirrors the skylight but in a much more diffuse way. And the pipe bisects the image in just the right way.

Brilliant Mr Motts. I'm definitely getting addicted to this website. 8 )

Thank you Serrena. 8 )

I'm not much of a photographer. My ex-wife was very good at it though, and i learned to appreciate good photos from her. It's encouraging to know that Mr Mott uses a digital camera to capture these images. Makes me want to go out and find something to take pictures of.

Sorry if there's a FAQ somewhere with this info, but what type of camera do you use for these shots? Is it a 35mm, a larger format, digital?

You're an excellent photogragher. I'm jealous. 8 )
