Old Morgue

Serrena

XYZ - Quite the contrary. Lyric was pointing out that currently there is an obesity problem with the United States. A hundred years ago, the average lifestyle didn't allow for the same sedentary existence the populace currently has, so therefore, the morgue designers didn't have to factor in that there would be a steady clientele of morbidly obese corpses.

Skeety -- er, I mean "Unknown" -- Exposed nerves get a might bit painful when somebody's aware of their existance.

You cared enough about what I said to comment - behind a screen of anonymity, no less - and that alone speaks volumes more than my literate fingers could possibly give justice to.

As much as I'd love to point out the gross errors of your "studies," I respect Mr. Motts' site enough not to clutter his Comments board with theological argument. I'd be more than happy to continue this conversation with you, Skeety, over in Opacity's Forum (the link is above the "Post A Comment" box). See you there.

Look for the girl with the stars in her eyes and you're gone.

Christianity is only two-thousand years old. Symbolic stars of any fashion have been around a LOT longer than two-thousand years. Bzzzz ... try again. Thanks for playing.

BillF - Thank you, thank you for being our instructor for "Power Plant 101." If it weren't for you, I'd be totally lost. Thanks again.

BTW ... I live a few hours from SLO ... when's the tour scheduled?

Very appropriate for this gallery, Bri.

Well ... we're off to bed, Lyric & I. Don't forget there is an extention to Mr. Mott's commentaries over at:

Hope to see you all there ... soon ... and help take a bite out of Mr. Mott's post scanning duties. ;-)

Loved the Gallery, Mr. Motts. You have yet to disappoint. What a fabulous tribute to the Industrial Age. You have indeed brought life back to the old corpse.

Accident Prevention

They have a sign like this outside the lumbermill where I live. I cringe whenever I see it get reset to "1." 1,883 days is quite a time to go without a "lost time" accident. Then again, these might have been the kind of guys that just slapped some duct tape on a partially severed finger until they could finish their shift, go home and have the wife whip out the catgut and a new sewing needle.

The Red Door

Serrena

Okay ... must be the first to say this:

"I see a red door and I wanted painted black."

Now that the cheesy moment has passed ...

I am really diggin' this shot. The door is just ajar enough to make you wonder what's behind it ... and yet, it's just forboding enough to not have the nerve to look.
