this room couldn't be too "secure" -- the hinges are exposed on the inside of this room.
The state mental hospital I worked at didn't have any hinges exposed on either inside or outside of doors that were patient accessible.

This reminds me so much of a scene from stephen king's "IT"...eerie!

Whenever I see open doors like this, it always makes me think that a bunch of people left in a hurry.

My friends and I went there today trying to find the morgue, but we didn't get very far. We were in their with our flashlights and everything and we heard a huge "BANG!" like a door slam, so we bolted out of there, it was so scary. But, we're going back.

Are any of you individuals gainfully employed? Really...

I was under the impression that a graveyard cannot be relocated until the last body has been laid to rest for 100 years. If that is indeed true, Danvers should be OK.

I think the creepy part of looking at these things is that for every name, every toothbrush, there are entire lives that are coupled with them. Entire familys which are intertwined with those lives... Unless these people were dumped at this place and forgotten forever, only to one day end up in one of its morgues. Sad really...

I like how you decided not to use a black and white quality on this photo.. I think it would be too creepy if it was in black and white; the colour makes it a bittersweet photo.

I would think that before they either renovate or demolish the building, they'd do something about those books and films. Like maybe an auction of some sort that would generate some sort of funding towards something.

They have no sense when it comes to leaving this stuff behind! I would think that they'd find someplace to put these books away. If not, then wouldn't it make sense to hold some kind of public auction for these books?

its an inviting nightmare... the way the doors are almost but not quite all the way open suggests that they are in the process of opening, like its a ghost story, and the ghosts want you to come this way. brilliant.

where the door is opened, it looks like something is there, becuase it's pure white, just two dots, it's a cool picture, becuase it does look like that roof is gonna fall down.

this building is very historical and many people have died in that from being tourtoured in the olden days because of false believes and of false things like vapmpires and monsters and even thinking that the peoples bodies were inhabitited by acinet spirtis of that building and going mad by killing every one in there paths if you listen close on the top floor you can still hear the doctors screaming in fear when there time of death has come Some say you can even see some people standing by the windows to catch there next victims
