rocky point has a walking path now ..the park is mostly dismantled and fences off....the dinning hall is still up and the poles to the skyline and there is a larger building you see further down the path ..im curios as to what that is...at the vrery end of the path there are old beach houses..i like to call it shack town..does anyone know why the houses are fenced in with the park? the park closed a year b4 i was born but im so intrgued by it becasue family members have so many memories from there..

my father was in and out of pilgram state hosp. from 1957 to 1965. He was an acholic. does anyone know if the building they kept alcholics are still up. by the way he died there. would like to go visit the place again.

my father was an alcoholic. his frist trip to pilgram state hospital was when he got the dt's.that was around 1957 when i was 15. thereafter he was there and many other state hosp. mostly pilgram state. i remember visiting him in those scary builings. it seems he always wanted to be admitted late at nite. the last nite we admitted him we go a telegram the next morn. telling us he was dead. i was always told he choked. years later i was told he was murdered that nite. cant say i missed him. that was a nitemare life.

How in the world you got into this place is beyond me. I lived in that area for about 25 years and I know the security that surrounded this place. Asbestos, I've heard, was terrible in these buildings.
Wonderful photographs. I'm glad I got a glimpse of what it looks like in these buildings after 30 years of wondering...Let alone not having the balls, *ahem I mean, guts to go in these places.

I'm dying to know why I feel the way I feel about this school. Before I knew the story or knew it was haunted, from the very first time I saw it, I was intrigued by it. I don't know why, maybe it was just the huge gates enclosing it. But now that it's open to the public, I can't even bring myself or my friends to drive more than a few seconds up the driveway. solomon92 iv heard a mans voice by the weird looking bridge and people will just think im lieing but im not the place is deffo haunted and tbh what is ever over there doesnt like anyone trespassing i agree with solomon92 the ghosts have been there way before the guards and will be there after aswell for along time.

In the greek myth it was actually a pithos, a greek jar that had a wide mouth and was used to store liquids, such as wine, or for holding food, such as grain, or for the burial of the dead. I wonder who started calling it a box. but 'pandora's box' sounds a lot better than 'pandora's pithos'.

im not one of the local wankers that destroyed this place i just know that who burnt it out is not a very nice person and the security does a shit job meh and my mate can still explore the beautiful grounds and i will be having you done for cyber bulling that kind of lanuage is not acceptable and im not local.
