Gotta say Motts- Excellent photos, but thanks for respecting where you were. It's easy for us to say we'd like a peek inside, but as others have pointed out, these are the earthly remains of human beings, not props in a Vincent Price flick. To have done otherwise without the permission of the families would have been desicration. There is a fine line between art and garbage, and there are plenty of places on the internet for the latter, not enough of the former. OK, OK, I'm putting the soapbox away!

Executone started in the 1930's with wooden intercom units and public address systems. They also manufactured hospital systems,etc. They did begin selling telephone systems in the 1970's. This is definately not a telephone system component. Over 25 yrs, I've worked on about all that Executone put thier name on.

Showin' my age here a bit, but i work for an Etone dealer. This is likely the lower half of an old PA microphone. The toggle swithces would be used to activate areas of speakers, and you'd press the rectangular switch ("To Call Press Here") to make your announcement. In picture "Red & Blue", there appears to be a wooden speaker baffle laying on the floor lower left, likely part of this system. Impressed? Niether is my wife.
