Actually it's just a recliner from a nurse's lounge/day room.

Hangout Room

Byberry might be creepy to some, but it's just an empty group of delapidated buildings.
The whole machete thing is just a bullshit story.

Nope, they're just empty because they've never been used.

Nurses Station

It still does, until your friend tears a fire bell off the wall and throws it down a long echoey hallway!
Then you figure whoever was watching you is leaving the scene very abruptly, as the guy that threw it is seven feet tall.
Long live Lanky!

There's still things here and there, I have tons of pics of everything in there, but it's not as prevalent as before.

Byberry was gutted by state-run work crews the year following it's closure in 1990. I've found a few text-books and music books there, but if it wasn't removed by '92, it was set on fire by vandals.

Rednek is just some stoner dude that hung there for a brief moment in time. Wierd guy.
Buck is the caretaker of Byberry. He knows it inside out and in the dark. He's more in tune with this place than anyone I've ever met. It's fuckin' scary. He shows up and disappears from and into the thin air like a phantom. This dude could definitely kill you silently and slip away like the fog.
I drink beers with him whenever I see him, he's one cool motherfucker.

O'Boyle's site is cool but Mott's comments and the ability for the public to comment, not to mention Mott's historic information makes his site quite the mindblower.

As long as it stands, the Philadelphia Police will be patrolling the grounds.

The only hallway that's flooded is the one that goes past the "C"s and goes under Southampton Road. It been flooded forever. It goes right smack into a cement wall construction workers put up years ago.

Shit hitting the fan? Nothing new on the property thus far. No construction equipment, no nailing up of entrances, no new security....

If you look at Goddog's map, found here: http://theduke81.tripod.com/id9.html
It's the building labeled "X": on the second map from the top. Building N-10, the Tuberculosis Hospital Ward, the furthest back of the "new" buildings. It's on the ground floor way in the back near the shipping area. You'll see literally hundreds of little white plastic caps before you start seeing the bustedmbrown botles. You can't miss it if you explore the entire ground floor of N-10.

My Dad used to pilot the fire-boat here in Philly, downtown under the Ben Franklin Bridge.(Delaware River). I remember taking rides on it. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my youth.
