These lights remind me of ones we had in our house when I was growing up (Germany). Memories.......

If I ever win the lottery I want to buy this place. I love the greenhouse. England isn't that far from home either so I can drive home for long weekends! Ha!

What a shame nobody wanted to find a reuse for these beautiful buildings.

Why oh why do people let beautiful buildings just sit there and rot and then they have to get torn down. They should be reused in respect to all the people that have memories there. This would have made some beautiful loft apartments or some other reuse.

Beautiful! Magestic. It is worth saving. I hope somebody saves it one day before it is to late.

I hate to see beautiful old buildings left to rot. I wish that there was a way to save all of them. but then again you wouldn't have a website if that happened.

It is a shame that they can not save it. I wish they could find a rich benefactor that would restore it and take a tax deduction for it.

I forgot to say that it was two weeks ago that I was in Bad Soden at the Heart Hospital.

I was in a German Heart Hospital (my stepfather is in the hospital recuperating after his heart surgery) in Bad Soden and was amazed at all the English medical books that were in the doctor's office. He didn't speak English even with all the books.

There is one thing I like about Germany. It is harder there to tear down historic buildings than it is here in the states. With all the base closures the reason the Germans are finding it hard to find investors is because some of them were German bases before they were American bases. so they are not allowed to be torn down due to historic significance.

Could have been a security guards room or could have been a homeless person that moved in til he got caught and made to move on.

I grew up in Germany and used to go shopping in East Berlin in the early 80's. I love Berlin. It was fun and cheap to shop there. Clerks were rude cause you were spending more money than they had made in a year though. I thought it was amazing that the only jay walkers were tourists. East Germans did not jay walk and our group was always followed by the east german police supposedly for our protection but I think it was so that the people couldn't talk to us.

I have one of these. I think it is from the 50's as mine is pale yellow and it hangs on teh wall to crush ice in.
