Chapel

Orchid Lunar

Not to mention the upper half stood for the sky and thus the male energy of the cosmos and the lower half the earth and the feminine aspect.Saddly kids do things to be cool or get a reaction without much thought to the meaning of it.

And as far as real worshipers of evil go they mainly use much more complex hexagrams that are laden with symbols rather than actual pentagrams.

Chapel

I see skye may be as interested in the occult and paranormal as I am.As far as that particular pentagram goes it was probably made by some teenagers that have no clue what it means but just think it represents evil from what they have seen in films and such.

X-Ray Machine

This Stanley sounds like one of the many urban legends you hear about Byberry with lunatics and murderers lurking in the tunnels and such.Sorry but I think past employee is playing games with us.

Therapy Chair

That mask does look really out of place but that is part of what makes this photo interesting.

Banister

Orchid Lunar

Wonder what it's made of?I'm assuming oak but I could be wrong. The thing that makes this place stand out is all the really nice carpentry work.

Fireplace

Orchid Lunar

Now they don't make fireplaces like that anymore.I'm assuming this must be handmade.Mass produced goods don't have that kind of quality.

Mural

Orchid Lunar

That mural really doesn't look that old.Well it's cheery and I think the patients here probably needed as much cheering up as possible.

A Dead Building

I think Sam might mean asbestos but I could be wrong.

Hall

Orchid Lunar

I see what your talking about me but I'm not sure what it is exactly.Orbs can sometimes be dust on the camera lens but in a place like Byberry I think there is a good chance you could have got some paranormal activity mike.

Ward View

Orchid Lunar

Not so Kelly!Ghosts are not just the traditional image of moaning, transparent figures in shrouds. You often wouldn't know one if you met them on the street.

I am with everyone else who or what is standing in the doorway?Probably someone who was with Motts but if not that may just be a paranormal photo.

The Oven and the Cage

I wonder if the paint in the room is blacklight reactive and if they had one going when this place was open?

Shirt

Orchid Lunar

Thanks Ilaynay! That is the one I was thinking of.Well actually I think I was thinking of two stories that one and another one that was similar but had a more supernatural theme to it.

The Castle

Orchid Lunar

Yah Susan and saddly the spell that makes it sleep is materialism, greed,a jaded and desensitized society, and everything else sad and ugly in the world.

Shining Sterility

Orchid Lunar

A tapeworm without the hooking and sucking mouthparts but a tapeworm nonetheless.Wow it would be really frightening to encounter a tapeworm of that size!

Where did you see these/find out about these Sam?I'm with Lynne. It might be horrible but I'm very curious about these. It rings slightly of an urban legend more than anything factual but then again you never know.

Pit Of Oblivion

Orchid Lunar

He was retarded so he was "influenced"to write what he did about the place.Thats an extremely condescending view Marcia.None of it seemed influenced to me.You can see what we all know of Pennhurst here.http://www.elpeecho.com/pennhurst/pennhurst.htm

Attic Light

Turkey Vultures are for the most part like the Wil E Coyote vultures.Have you ever seen one? They grow from about 25 to 32 inches long and have a wingspan of about six feet.Thats not a small bird by any means.

Ancient Fan

Orchid Lunar

I see your point Bas.You can almost sort of imagine the rust spots actually being blood.Reminds me of an old episode of Tales from the Crypt where someone was shredded by a fan.

What movies are you talking about Sam?I know abuse did happen at Pennhurst and film was taken of the horrid conditions but they showed nothing quite that extreme and if they did things of that nature Pennhurst would have been shutdown long before it was and most of the staff would have been incarcerated.
