Florid Doors

Nance

This part actually looks pretty decent---clean. Don't they remove valuable items before they demolish it? Or does everything get torn down together?

Seclusion Rooms

And why were patients secluded? Misbehavier? If you have mental problems to begin with, don't you think that would make it worse?

My first thought, looking at this photo was, "What a beautiful painting."

Weeping Walls

Nance

In very old homes, electrical wiring was often run on the outside of the walls. First of all, today our construction is such cheap dry-wall, they have no problem running the electrical wires behind the walls; it's only studs and the rest is hollow. It was more difficult to run wiring behind walls that were pretty heavy "real" plaster and heavier construction.

Blackened

Isn't this hallway kind of narrow? It just really looks closed-in.

Honestly, I've been to other sites and I have to say Mott's photography is out-standing' clear, fantastic lighting, beautiful angles. No one can say you don't know what you're doing.

I can't believe they will be knocking down something this beautiful. It really makes me sick.

Damp

It's really amazing how many abandonements are in every single state and scattered all over. It still puzzles me why this is so common. Why simply walk away from any building and just let it sit there and rot? I don't understand it. I've seen pictures of places where they've left their furniture and even some personal belongings. Not only large buildings, like Motts usually shows but alot of small residences, as well. I just don't understand it. Doesn't someone OWN the property? Why is it just left to ruin?

I've been "away", browsing different sites and I gotta tell you, Motts, NO ONE compares to you. Your photography is really awsome.
