Medieval

Monkey Head

The visitors and friends of the inmates would stand outside the walls and throw cigarettes and snacks up through the windows. Sometimes girlfriends would camp out below their loved ones windows at night and converse and sing to each other.

The windows on the north side looked out over the recreation yard and the inmates were able to roam freely between the cells and the floor to ceiling bars.

Folded

Monkey Head

The bunks were folded up when the cell was not occupied. It would be hard to fold up when your mattress and bedding were in place. Give the inmate more room? Ha!

Sink in the Tub

Monkey Head

My wife and I have two of thoso tubs in our house right now. One is vintage, the other is fiberglass purchased at Lowe's recently. The shot titled "Seeing Stars" brings back memories. The area just to the right of the cell door is where the bunks are located.
