Wow, Motts, I loved your story on the facing page!

Yikes, the things you do to bring us these incredible pictures!

Thank you!

Everyone said it! I love it! Thank you again, Motts!

(I usually try to refrain from commenting so much, but this gallery brought it out in me!)

Recline

Michele

I love this shot!

I wonder what the actual height of this great room is, what, with the ugly drop ceilings up there.

Also, the curved edges on the (beautiful) arched windows and corners gives it a "padded room" look to it.

LOL @ Tommeh!!!'s post! What a visual!

In fact, this shot looks like it's taken in a prison block.

I love the way I can "feel the environement" in your work, Motts, you are extremely talented!

This picture and the last one (with the bullet hole in the glass) have a very cold, utilitarian, and 'industrial building' feel to it.

Even in various stages of deteriation, most asylums look like what they are, hospitals.

This one (especially this particular area) just doesn't look like a hospital environement. *shudders*

I agree, very interesting image created by the (gun?) shot!

This picture is conveying a cold, desolated feel to me.

Excellent picture! The two pictures really made me feel like I've step back into time.

"Any idea around what year the old photo was taken Motts?"

Hi, Irish, if you don't mind my volunteering an answer... By the looks of the nurses' uniforms, I would say it looks, to me, to be between 1890 and 1910.

I absolutely love these two pictures!

This picture made me say "Oh my God..." out loud upon loading on my screen!

Very sinister shot!

Joe asked:
"what is that yellow thing at the end of the hall?"

Like Tony C. said in the first post, I believe it's a pallet jack.

I'd like to grab a broom, sweep a clear path and take that pallet jack for a spin up and down this gorgeous hallway! ;o)

That is very interesting, finding a picture like that.

Finding a live piece of history, a portal of sorts, to the past, kind of gives you an idea of what the room looked like during its heyday.

I don't usually comment in every picture, but each picture is better than the last - all I can say is "YIKES!" I got goosebumps!

It's so sinister and foreboding...and it seems as though it is beckoning you to come inside...

Motts, in the opening page of this gallery, you wrote:

"We weren't allowed inside because of asbestos and dangerous floors (if he only knew where we had been!),"

I'm just curious, did you give him your website address?

Or do you shy away from doing that in case someone decides to use your site as proof and press trespassing charges (or something like that)?

Keep up the wonderful work!
