Basement Door

Linda - CT

It looks like the doorway to a hidden room in a European castle.

Once again, GREAT lighting and composition, Motts!

Vast

I also thought it looks like a ballroom. I find it interesting that a psychiatric hospital would have a ballroom, but then, why not?

Curved Stairwell

Neat angle, Motts!

The Safe

Linda - CT

I wonder if this was a safe for valuables, or was it a vault for maybe patient records, or perhaps records of some other kind. Would have been a good place to store the meds. The patients couldn't get at 'em in there!

Beautiful woodwork that's even more beautiful up close!

Beautiful woodwork!

Nice windows, too. I especially like the colored panes on the top.

Lovely lighting!

Legs

Linda - CT

Neat pic, and this room looks as though it was painted not too long ago, either. It would be nice if they either auctioned off all those desks and chairs, or simply gave them away to charity or the general public.

Aaarrrggghhh!!! Even MORE useable wastage! >:-(

Thorazine Dream

Linda - CT

Another eerie shot, and yet another couple of perfectly good chairs going to waste. The one in the foreground looks practically brand new!

Path to Rehab

This place looks like it's been abandoned for YEARS!

Good Morning

Nice lighting, but kinda eerie.

Nice to see that pretty fireplace again.

Firehosery

Why would anyone want to use this photo as their wallpaper. I wouldn't. It's WAY too depressing for me! :-(

All Lined Up

Linda - CT

Iggy, I think that "forehead seatbelt" is used when a cervical spinal injury is suspected. It keeps the head immobilized so that more serious damage is done.

Arch

DANG! ANOTHER wheelchair just going to waste!

Number Forty Faces the Darkness

Haunting.

Musical Chairs

Linda - CT

More wheelchairs. It's such a shame to see them just sitting there, unused, when they could be used by those who need them, that is, if they're still in useable condition.

Basement Wheelchair

Linda - CT

All the wheelchairs strewn around the facility. I wonder if they're still in useable condition. If they are, they should be given to facilities that can use them, such as hospitals and nursing homes.

Caged

Linda - CT

For me, the only thing missing from this picture is an altar at the foot of that huge cross.

Claustrophobia

Linda - CT

Claustrophobia indeed! This picture gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Feeling the walls closing in on you." EEK!!!

Fireplace

Linda - CT

The dayroom must have been well supervised. It wouldn't be smart to leave psychiatric patients alone around fire. No telling what harm they could do to themselves and/or others were they able to come into contact with it.

Sunrise Hall

Linda - CT

Well, I can make out the word "corpse" easily enough, but not the word that's before it. Anyway "rancid corpse" sounds like a good name for one of those heavy metal rock bands. :-))
