This room has the appearance of a most elegant 18th/19th century ballroom, it's spectacular.

yes, i'm quite surprised the company left them there, entire carousels can fetch millions at the right auction, there aren't many of them left

Like the way the sunlight streams through the window and casts a shadow on the wall.

It looks like there was something in the center at one point. But it broke off. Maybe it was a vase or potted plant or marble torch.
The architecture is simply amazing, unfortunately in our age they put more emphasis on getting a building up quickly instead of beautiffuly.

Someone sliced of it's left hand. Unless it was made without a left hand. It looks too clean cut to have naturally fallen off.

For some reason I can hear Mozart's requiem in the background. hauntingly beautiful.

I would love a closeup of that painting. It looks almost like a Picasso work. What is that in the back wall? A Radio?

It looks like a scene from The Adoration of the Magi. Regardless, it is far too beautiful to be left to rot in an old prison.

Scary, I beleive they were going to film a movie here. I read recently that Martin Scorcesse was hoping to set a film with DiCaprio and others at this location. But, since the building is getting the axe (regrettably) Martin and company couldn't film there. Shame

When all this is gone, only your photographs will be around on the internet to remind us of this buildings magnificence and splendor. This photo is truly a piece of history in and of itself. Thank-you.

The building (and photo) are simply amazing, beautiful. Words cannot describe my anger that this complex is being torn down. At least the facade of the clock tower will remain to overlook the city.

I was there on march 16 2008 there is an unsettling feeling there and an orb was seen by myself and someone else

Probably worth a fair bit with a little restoration.

The irony is, when this hospital was in use I don't think that tree was there, it looks pretty young to me. So when the person woke up all they saw was an empty field, sad.

Just think, becasue of those splendid arch ways this crypt may stand for another 200 years. I hope so.

ED i wondered that too, If a noble from the Tudor family was buried here. If so then i would be very excited, I'm a nut on the subject of Tudor family history.

I kick myself for being a coward, had I been in your shoes, I would have only gotten exterior shots, but you are one brave soul and I thank you for it, again.

It looks as if the crypt had some sort of latch, on the INSIDE, weird...anways...great picture as always your photography skills are greatly appreciated by all of us

That casket looks small, although people were generaly shorter in the 1800's it's probably just a perspective thing. Can you fill me in Motts?

By the way, theres a crypt in my towns graveyard that I assume looks just like this on the inside, someday I will go in, someday...
