Welcome

Joseph

The very first thing to pop into my head as soon as I saw this photograph and read the welcome sign is the song by Pink Floyd called "Brain Damage"

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me till Im sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
Theres someone in my head but its not me.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

High Chair

This photograph strikes me as somewhat odd.

I was pulling guard duty at the Haitian Military Academy in Haiti during the early days of Operation Uphold Democracy in September / 1994 and I would pull guard duty at night and I would wear night vision goggles or night vision devices.

And this photograph looks like I am wearing the night vision goggles again.

This photograph has that same strange, foggy - green look to it that I would see at night while pulling guard duty.

Here is a side note: First; if you have never worn night vision goggles before then walk slow at first so you can get your balance.

Second; You will find out that you have lost all of your peripheral vision. You will have to turn your head to see something.

Third; If it raining close your eyes very quickly if there is lightning ! If you don't then you will see bright flashes of lights in your eyes for awhile.

Bathroom

Joseph

Did you guy's clean the sink, tile and floor first and then take the photograph ?

Even the shower curtain is clean.

This photograph seems so out of place on this website when you take into consideration all of the buildings and how dirty they are.

The Carpet Is Alive!

Joseph

This is a fantastic shot !

It has a very sureal look to it.

It looks like it would be a "set" from a 1950's alien space film. I can just see the actor's walking thru this "set" in their 1950's space suits and then being attacked by a man eating plant or something like that.

When it comes to photography:

This whole area could be changed to a small college with a small community.

As long as it stayed small it would be so cool !!!

Shower Stall

Joseph

The comment that was written by Gerald E. Marcial on September / 05 / 2005 is somewhat puzzling. What do you mean when you write that the "outside brother assistant" controlled the temperature ?

Was the "outside brother assistant" an actual job title, rank or official position for someone ?

Did some guy go around telling people that his official job title was "outside brother assistant" and that his capacity for employment was to controll the temperature of the water for the person who was taking the shower ?

There has to be more to this story concerning the "outside brother assistant" and the duties performed and executed by him to include how this particular job and title came to be in existence.

I knew that there is something strange about these showers.

Tired

Joseph

tcb is right about the uxo's.

UXO stands for unexploded ordnance.
When I was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from late August, 1994 - November, 1996 I accidently found an unexploded artillery shell when I was digging a hasty fighting position.
( A hasty fighting position is not the same as a foxhole. ) I actuallly hit the damn thing with my E - tool. { entrenching tool; the Army's fancy name for a shovel }. And when I turned around the other four Soldiers had run off behind the trees and had left me for possible death.

So be careful when you are exploring old Military sites.

Clown Picture

Joseph

Why do almost all of the government run institutions almost always have a picture of a clown somewhere ?

All of these clowns always look weird, freaky and a little scary.

Like I said in one of my other comments;

These clowns remind of the clown called Pennwise in Stephen King's novel "It".
