Just happened to come across this site. Like everything in life it wasn't by chance however. My father was in the Navy on this base and I left the base in 1972 when I graduated from high school. I haven't been back as I live in CA now. But the base and this place has always fascinated me and what it looked like now. Bainbridge was an erie place to be as a child. Even then many buildings were abandoned. The town of Port Deposit that this place is set in is also something from a movie. These buildings were magnificent then as are these pictures!
Lived on this base as a child until 1972. Used to run around these old buildings and even had a friend that lived in an old Tome school house that the commanding officer of the base lived in. Thank you for showing these and bringing back memories that hadn't been thought of for 40 years almost.
