I don't know about your state laws, but records are open to the public once a person is deceased. The dead have no rights according to our government.

Contraption

Jill B

The Jars

Jill B

Not to disappoint anyone, but the block is placed under the head of the body to keep the head in alignment. This prevents the neck from pulling towards the back of the body during various stages of rigor.

Beds

Jill B

These are not that old, they are electric beds. These came into use most commonly in the late 60's and early 70's. The side rails are used to keep pts from falling out of the beds or to lean against while their linen was being changed.

In-Bed Scale Closeup

Jill B

These were horrible to use as you have to lift the pt onto the scale and move it away from the bed to weigh them. Caused alot of nurses to have bad backs....Jill

Jill B

Current research has found that the color "pink" has a very calming affect on people who are upset. They use it in jails frequently today. Works like a charm apparently.

Medical Equipment

It looks like some kind of old respirator to my eye. The kind that used to be used in surgery.
