thanks thad! at this point, the security is suspicious of everyone wanting access to the property but if you show them that you respect both them and the property, they are so nice! plus they have a lot of interesting stories about the place. please don't go in trying to cause trouble - they are VERY serious and will not hesitate to call the state police for even th most minor offense.

the security there are very nice and are just trying very hard to do their jobs! anyone who messes with them is just an asshole.

POWs of ww2 and no criminally insane! do a little bit of research before assuming.

none of the dormitories, or as a matter of fact most of the buildings are original to the pow camp! they were all specially built for the school.

blood? people, please! this is way up inside a stairwell inside the front of one of the buildings. Although these places were considered to be inhumane, there is a difference between reality and horror movies.

oh and one more thing - some people here have referred to this place as an insane asylum and that isn't true. it was a school for the mentally handicapped, not for the mentally ill. there is a big difference and i think it is an extremely important one to recognize.

After visiting numerous times I can tell you that this building is not original to the military camp, only 1 building still standing is. This place is not haunted although there are rumors of terrible conditions that existed in many a state school back in the day. Also the movie that "john" is talking about is called the surrogates. its pretty funny to see dever in the background - i recommend it, its not half bad!
