My mother was one of the last patients to leave the asylum back in the early 90's I was born in 1989 and didnt know my mother for the first few years of my life i have always wanted to go and explore this place as the stories i hear from people are not very good ones with regards to the treatment of patients while they were in there apparently there were many suicides often on a weekly basis but these patients were tormented and abused mentally and physically on a daily basis i think only the people that were there at the time will know the truth perhaps guilty or not.....

When are you planning on revisiting? Observing the pictures of the grounds in the old photos makes me want to go and take some pics of the surrounding area. I agree that it probably would have been a more impressive shoot.

To all those asking where the morgue is. As you enter off of Letchworth Village Road, go through the parking lot and branch left as you pass the now burnt Stewart Hall building you will pass three housing units on your left and then the next building on the left is the morgue. If you look on google maps it is shaped like the pi symbol from above. It should be up a little driveway. Its across the street from a pond. I have never been inside, too freaked out by these pics lol.

Ahhh theres thos funny BOTTLE DIAZED FUSES they are the funnyest looking fuse ive ever seen they use them in european countries They are located in the round holders at the top of photo.

This place looks amazingly similar to the Blackhawk hotel in Davenport, IA. I was able to go inside after it was abandoned and get a few shots, nothing near the quality of these galleries though. great work!

i went to rocky point for the first time on a 7th grade field trip, and instantly fell in love with it!!! i lived in hanson, mass. at the time, but, once i got my license in 1987, i made the trip to warwick several times a summer / fall until it closed. i saw many great bands there- michael morales... one hit wonder with the song"who do you give your love to" and the divinyls... "i touch myself"; my friend and i stayed late after that show, and went on all the rides with the band... hot lead singer!!! great memories!!!! wish my girls could have seen the place!!!!

Was this photo taken in a tomb? Maybe the real body was relocated. Maybe someone broke into the tomb and they havent locked it up yet. Maybe this could be fake. I cant imagine a cemetery would leave it this way.

I have one of these wonderful machines, and we actually USE it. It sounds like a Sunbeam Mixmaster and gives off an aroma of burning dust, hot film and lubricating oil, which is instantly recognizable to any boomer as "projector smell". It brings me crashing back to junior high, with its coincident odors of pencil sharpener shavings and chalk dust. Simply wonderful.

I have the honor of being in the last graduating class in 1985. I cannot believe what has happened to the school building. Lots and lots of memories. I was sacristan of this chapel, incharge of upkeep, cleaning and Mass prep. Breaks my heart to see it!

yeah, the black area behind the grate would be vertical shutters actuated with the pedal on the organ, this is the volume control........ open it all the way to let the sound out, close it to muffle them..........
