This water tower suppied the New Botteling House it opened in 1966 and was state of the art at that time! Publicker was the Largest Maker of drinking and Industrial Alohol in the world then employing 5,000 people world wide then.

These were just for that reason to get out and close yourself from a fire as these Buildings were not opened for many months sometimes. You would go in and in the light you would see the air was blue with Fumes! All the lights and switch boxes were sealed and explosion Proof. They were very cold and the air was terrible you could almost get drunk breathing. They gave us old WWII Artic coats to wear in the winter!

These Buildings were so well built that they were considered to be Atomic Bomb shelters I have a old company booklet that tells you what to do in case of a bomb attack!

Wine Storage

I worked there right out of High school this warehouse is one of the real old ones from 1892 period. It has nothing to do with Wine they stored wooden Whiskey Barrels in these Racks and the elevators sometimes when overloaded would go down real fast! It was real cold in these no heat and lots of Blue fumes when not opened for a long time. worked there from 1966/1971.
