	Chipy this type of vault is called "barrel vault". i once lifed in a house which had this in the basement. in that former days it was a very common method of constructing vaults for rugged ceilings and high bearing capacity. it takes a lot to get this ceiling come down.

	Chipy this contraption and the metal rack just behind it on the rear left side are were used for blood transfusion. the glass bottles for the blood where put into this device in the front to shake it and prevent the blood from cloting. here ( http://www.opacity.us/image3124.htm ) is a similar metal rack for a soap *oops* blood dispenser. ;-)

	Chipy it's comparable to the "Emotional Deprivation Disorder" and has similar symptoms. hospitalism has additional apparently visible symptoms like bedsores, underweight, rocking etc.

	Chipy some years ago i had a disturbing dream of right this place. in my dream it was a school, the building around were school buildings, the yard was the school yard and in my dream i and the other kids spent the school-break there, and the small building in the middle was the GYM!!!

	Chipy ever heard of 'hospitalism'? thats a serious mental disorder where people suffer from when they're accommodated in a hospital for a long time without adequate care, and hospitalism is very common in overcrouded hospitals. so whatever the people in there suffer from, they additional suffer from hospitalism due to the bad circumstances in there. thats the 'dark' side of all hospitals.
