Cat I worked at a hospital built in the 50's, that had refrigerators like that at the employee entrance. This was due to practicality, as the employee entrance was at the lower rear of the building, which was also a perfect place for a hearse to drive up discreetly to pick up bodies. Every morning, I had to walk past those doors, knowing there was a good chance a corpse lay behind it. What a way to start the day.
