The Narrows

Calvert County

I've been in every building at the place, but the Narrows is by far one of the spookiest places to walk through. For one, the windows on the right look down on the Police trailor; so in the daytime you have to almost crawl. The doors on the left are medical supply rooms, with large glass cabinents and some lockers. Once, we broke an old padlock on the locker open, and inside were several patient smocks, with "Glenn Dale Hospital" and some numbers stamped on the front. It was freaky. Also, you can find old needles, test tubes, pills, etc on the floor. Definately one of the most unnerving parts of the hospital.

Children's Morgue

Calvert County

Why does everyone keep posting irrelevant comments to the picture. Everyone knows what death is, and everyone knows what a morgue is for. I've stood in the very spot that picture was taken; alone, because my group wouldn't go down the the second basement with me. If you want to make stupid comments about death or "Junior's slab", or try to criticize someone for making out of place comments...go find the morgue yourself, stand in front of it in half a foot of freezing water, alone with a flashlight. See how your thoughts and feelings change on the matter.

Power Plant

Climb the ladder running up the tallest inside part of the building. It goes to the roof and the catwalk.

Theater

I've been four times; twice in daylight and twice at night. Each time, the easiest way is [admin edit: entry information removed]. Do this quietly, using your cell phone as a light until you get on the grounds, and you shouldn't really have a problem with the park rangers. They live in a trailor in between the Adult and Children wards, and rarely venture inside the hospital. I won't lie, Glenn Dale isn't for anyone, especially at night. The last time I went, we saw a light in the fifth floor windows behind the Adult building. We went inside anyways, through a downstairs window next to the adult morgue, and got to the third floor. Twice in about five minutes, we heard and felt the entire building shake. We smoked a little weed before going in too, so it was just too much to take. I would reccomend going in daylight before going at night, absolutely. If you think you can handle it, get some shoes you don't mind getting wet, and try to get down into the SECOND children's basement. It's hard to find the stairs, because most is flooded out. It leads to the children's morgue, some abandoned beds, and the Children's ward entrance to the underground connecting tunnels. Another one of my favorite parts of Glenn Dale is the powerhouse. There is a sixty foot ladder on the wall going up to the catwalks and eventually the roof. It's exhilerating if you can make it to the top. I would highly reccomend to anyone who hasn't been here to check it out if you can handle it.
