The Long Island Railroad used to reseve 100 car unit Coal trains from Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railroads which came up from West Verginia. This hospital used to reseve between 1-2 trains a month before it shut down. Each railroad car contained 90 tons of coal.

The avrage Railroad Auto Parts Boxcar is 86 feet long and 17 feet tall.

maybe at some point the owners plan to reopen this plant that or intended to use it as a stand by plant should it someday be needed again. It would make sents to me to
maintain the power in it to keep an eye on the equipment for this reason.

Some Coal burning steam plants have large cooling towers. These plants are most often mistaken as nuclear plants. The towers take in cool air from large openings below them pushing the hot air up as it rises it condenses and makeing the water content in the steam run back to ground level where it is collected and reused. This system is slowley being intruduced in Ukraine and outer Eastern European countys that are in the process converting out dated Soviet era Nuclear Power Plants over to coal buring power plants..

most ofton power plants are hooked up on a diffrent power grid so that if there is a black out in the local area the plant is not affected by the outage. They do this so that plant stays in complete control of its operations and turbines as well as control the turbines from getting damaged if there is a complete shut down or loss of power.

Could be a Fairbanks-Moorse or a mid production Mcintosh & Seymour which built Ship engions before they were baught out by American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in the late 30's.

The railroad tracks in the forground are own and operated by CSX now sents the merger of Conrail. Be on alert as CSX Police are on the look out for trespassers in the area!! And there not vary friendley like the Buffalo Police Police Department.

I can rember being ordered to smash all the sinks and toilets in a factory that I worked at and also being told to cap the pipes with plaster or cement to keep gas from comeing up.

Some places abandoned or not have to keep lights on at key locations for Fire code reasons. There are a few abandoned factorys in my home town that the city requires out side lights on the grounds near entrence ways and Fire Exit lights with in the building to be keeped on as well as lights leading to any place where there are electrical panels and water shut off valaves connecting to the water mains with in the building.

i believe that the colors represent the different levels each patiant was in, from my own experiances dealing with people i know that have been in or are in mental institutions patients get different privledges depending on their statis, which is determined by the color they are at, gree being the best with the most privledges and red being the worst, normally new patients start off red and work their way up, each time a patient does something against the rules or anything of that sort their color goes down and thye lose certain privledges, but thats just my theory...

anyone know how to get into that place without getting caught???
