For some reason NYS Dept. of Health requires us to carry 6 of these onboard an ambulance. Imagine one 3/4 full as you're bouncing down a street in Yonkers! They really are a nemesis!

I'd love to see how the framing crew did this without circular saws or power nailers!

Arches of White

After "walking" the graffiti scarred halls of Byberry waiting for Motts to come back, this is a refreshing change.

Are the wide radius corners found in all Kirkbride buildings or are the unique to Danvers?

No Floors

Bill

Talk about the bottom dropping out.

Is that a slab tub bolted to the wall on the third "floor"?

This is an awsome shot!

Extention

Bill

Was there a gate nearby? At Sing Sing the on duty C.O. has to lower the key in a plastic bucket for his relief to get in at shift change.

Different times, different standards of privacy. Haven't you seen four hole outhouses where the whole family could "share the moment"?

Hydrotherapy

The tub was designed to be placed against a wall. The tile was put there to cover the exposed "wall side" of the tub. I guess it was easier to get patients in and out with access to both sides.

I don't know much about photography but I know talent when I see it. Awsome job!

I think this is a steam room. Having the patient's head through the hole would prevent him from sufficating and allow staff to monitor him.
